Theatre of Life

Embodiment Practice

Theatre of Life is a play-based embodiment practice rooted in an ancestrally-guided relationship to Land & Nature

Theory of Play: Why Play is Important

Play is powerful. Play is a freedom practice. In Theatre of Life we honor play as Land-based medicine.

From a Mesoamerican worldview, with our precious bodies and lives we have a purpose to fulfill. The flower and the act of blooming/ flourishing (florecimiento) are symbols for the evolution of our consciousness and the ability for us to bloom and fulfill our unique life purposes. We are meant to bloom like flowers in the time we have here on Earth.

As we “florecer” or bloom, our “alegria” blooms; meaning our playfulness blooms; meaning we are embodying our freedom. Play, like the flowers, is a state of being and gift from the ancestors, Land, and Nature that we cultivate as we remember ourselves and our ancestral ways of being.

What We Do

We attune our senses, bodies, and imaginations to the Land and Nature and listen to their imprint within each of us.

We cultivate a relationship to our presence and inhabit our bodies with greater emotional, psychic, and embodied awareness.

What It Looks Like

In Theatre of Life, we engage play, movement and vocal exploration, performance/persona exercises, ritual, story-telling, meditation, herbal medicine-making and other embodied practices.
